Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you are a new patient just joining our team (Welcome!) or you are a veteran of our unique hybrid treatment model, there may be some questions you have. We have put together a list of the most popular questions, with answers, in this guide. As always, we are just a phone call or email away if you can’t find the answer here.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Our hybrid clinic model was designed to combine aspects of massage therapy, physical therapy, and traditional chiropractic techniques with the goal of helping you move better. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you can move in but still keep you covered. Skirts, dresses, and skinny jeans may pose a challenge and although we don’t prefer them, we have worked around it before.

How long will I be there?

Although we are flattered you want to spend time with us in the office, we realize you have other things to do. Our new patient appointments range from 40-60 minutes and our follow-up treatments range from 10-30 minutes. If you are pressed for time, let us know and we will make it work.

Is this going to hurt?

You most likely came in because you are in pain. It would be a terrible idea to increase your pain. We try our best to reduce the pain the first few times you are treated. That being said, some therapies may cause some discomfort. Our chiropractors will inform you of any likely impacts of treatment before they perform it.

Does my insurance cover the cost?

Every insurance company and plan is different. We do our best to give you an estimate of what the insurance company will pay and how much you will owe but we can’t know for sure until we get the explanation of benefits back for each claim we submit.

How long does it take to get a claim back after you submit it?

Too long! In all seriousness, we have some payers who turn around a claim in a couple of weeks. Others have taken over 6 months.

Can I bring my children?

We love well-behaved children! Chiropractic and rehab equipment can be very dangerous to little fingers so we ask that children sit in the chair in the treatment room or on the floor and try not to touch the equipment. But don’t worry, we have lots of training in wrangling little ones so you can relax!

I love your building! What’s the story?

The Van Raalte Mill was an old textile factory that made silk lingerie. After your appointment, stop by the front desk and pick up an info sheet about the factory and ask Mary Ellen at the front desk to show you some of the things that used to be manufactured there.
